Mønster Patterns was founded by Anna Niestroj. She has been making patterns ever since the first day of primary school, when she held a chequered notebook in her hands. She draws, paints, etches, scans, prints, stitches, sellotapes, moulds, sculpts and designs on any type of paper, textiles, packaging, surfaces, in books, in magazines, even in nature, using anything from crayons, markers, watercolours to masking tape… and her absolute favourite – glitter!
Naturally, she also did some other things. Anna started freelancing as a designer over 10 years ago. She studied at 3 different art schools in 3 different programmes. She founded a creative studio and co-working space called Studio Blinkblink based in Berlin. She prints with a risograph. Runs several blogs. Does social media. Events. Workshops. Travel. Trend research. By now, she’s a fully-fledged entrepreneur.

Patterns are my life. They are my trusty companions. They endlessly bubble out of me like water trickling from a fountain. For me, the process of creating a pattern is a (spi)ritual experience. So it happened that over the years I created a large archive of patterns.
I didn’t want them to gather dust in drawers or die a digital death on hard drives. I wanted to share these patterns with the world – with creative entrepreneurs like you and small businesses like my own.
That’s when I had the idea for Mønster Patterns. How could I reach out to the self-made generation of today and help it become a more colourful place?
With this website I hope to inspire like-minded people in joining the pattern, print & colour club! I created this simple online shop with easy to understand pattern licenses that cover all your specific business needs.
